6 Regiment AAC (V) Headquarters is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The Regiment currently has two Squadrons, 655 Squadron located at the Army Aviation Centre (AACen), Middle Wallop, Hampshire and 677 Squadron that has detachments in Bury St Edmunds, Swaffham and Norwich. The Regiment was formed to provide front line support for the Apache regiments in the roles of refuelling, driving, communications, supply and re-arming.

The AAC Reserve recruits only groundcrew and support elements.
