Part of SASRA - The Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Scripture Readers Association

Peculiar people in officers' SD hats who would come and bother recruits during basic training in order to give them Bibles and talk about Jesus during an invaluable 2 hours off.

Equally peculiarly, would sometimes appear at guardrooms in BFG and go purple when denied access by atheistic ROS types with bad attitudes.

Generally a strange institution and not of obvious value, especially as they would not appear to have either tea, sticky buns, cigarettes or pornography with them, so no shiny things to attract soldiers' attention.

Scripture readers are not part of the Royal Army Chaplains Department
