The Atlantic Ocean has a total area of about 106.4 million square kilometres (41.1 million square miles). It covers approximately one-fifth of the Earth's surface.

This extremely large body of water is pretty much all that stops the UK from becoming the 51st state of the USA. If London were any closer to Washington, Nu-Labour prime ministers would never be away from the place trying to get a pat on their pointy head from which ever sub normal political parasite is currently shacked up in the White House.

The primary piece of blue ground that the Royal Navy needs to hold in case of unpleasantness with the Soviet Bear. Given they have 3 operational dingies, a yacht and more admirals than they have ships at present, thats going to be a bit tough.
