Security screening process whereby a particular social or ethnic group or individuals likely to pose a threat to society or national security are singled out for thorough examination at airports, rail terminals and points of entry. The following groups or individuals are likely to encounter enhanced security measures more than non-profiled categories:

  • Nuns
  • Little old ladies
  • Women with bags of shopping
  • Service personnel either in or out of uniform
  • Families with young children going on holiday
  • The disabled
  • The blatantly gay
  • Airline staff - including flight & cabin crew
  • Cleaners
  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Firefighters
  • The generally innocuous

The following groups or individuals will be... in fact MUST be totally ignored by security operatives and police as to do anything else would infringe their human rights:

  • Muslims
  • Anyone clearly agitated, sweating profusely and reciting the Koran
  • Baggage handlers
  • Dealers in second hand iPods, laptops, jewelery and cameras collecting suspicious packages from baggage handlers.
