RAF Cranwell is where young men and women go to become Officers in the RAF. Cranwell used to be known as HMS Daedalus until 1918 when the RAF took it over.

The large main building was finished in 1923 and created in an old style so the cadets wouldn't be jealous of their naval and army peers who went through BRNC Dartmouth and RMA Sandhurst respectively.

The college has its own airfield which plays host to 3 Flying Training School and a Grob Tutor squadron which provides aircraft for the University Air Squadron and ATC Air Experience Flights.
