Formed in 2006, the SFSG is a joint unit predominantly comprised of the 1st Battalion, the Parachute Regiment and augmented by elements drawn from the Royal Marines and the RAF Regiment. Based at St Athan in Wales and coming under UKSF direction, the units provides dedicated infantry support to the other elements of UKSF: the SBS, the SRR and, of course... Them.
All SFSG personnel are either parachute or commando trained having undergone either P Company, the All Arms Commando Course or the RAF's equivalent 'pre-para' at RAF Honington.
