Browser

The software that you are using to view this page. A browser allows access to the world’s largest repository of information ever known, called the World Wide Web. However, browsers are used more selectively by the fine denizens of ARRSE with the following five subjects being the most popular:

  1. Porn
  2. Porn
  3. Sites to increase your outrage state
  4. Porn
  5. The ARRSE forums

Which is why the savvy internet surfer is using Firefox with its Privacy Mode, which conveniently hides the history.

Occasionally, an ARRSE member will use a browser to find something other than listed. Given that the World Wide Web is vast such errors are perhaps to be expected, but not forgiven. We have standards here.

Before the browser was invented, by Sir Tim Berners-Lee in 1991, the Internet was a sorry affair. Using the systems of the day it wasn’t unknown for someone to spend days trying to electronically locate porn or outrage, which only added to the total amount of the latter. Since then many different browsers have become available with those used by the ARRSE community listed on the statistics page.

Beware though. Reading such statistics and realising that someone uses a different browser to you is likely to result in outrage.
