Example: "Gun group. 200 metres. Chavs collecting giros - watch my tracer. Bursts when ready."
Also: Rough sand or small stones. When found in certain lubricants by Naval types they can be heard to shout “Aaaaah! There be grit in the Vaseline! It’s goin’ ta be a rough passage tonight, m’young lad”.
