Historical Titbit.. Glencorse was originally used as a Military Prison and French prisoners of war were held here during the Napoleonic wars. What is less well known is that prisoners from the American wars were also held here, and some are allegedly buried under the lower sports pitches! They died of natural causes, but we don't usually include this information in the tourist guides!
