Griffin HT1

British military designation of the US-manufactured Bell 412. Basically a twin-engined 'Huey' (Iroquois UH1) development with a four-bladed rotor used as both a Joint Service helicopter trainer and as a SAR platform by the RAF in Cyprus. The Griffin is slightly different than the Bell 212 AH1s used by the AAC in Belize and Brunei. These too are twins, but with the standard two-bladed rotor arrangement and different avionics.
