General Guderian

General Karl Heinz Guderian - Often called the "Father of Armoured Warfare" his seminal work "Achtung Panzer" is considered required reading of armoured warfare Panzergrenadier types and just sounds great don't you think? Started off as a Signals officer of all things!

Try it out.

"Achtung Panzer!"

Not a Surprise that Guderian was German.

Funnily enough the contributions made by the Russians to the development of Armoured Warfare in Germany in the 1920s, when both countries co-operated to develop new tactics and doctrine gets glossed over. Funny that. Also ironic is the fact that Guderian and co. were comprehensively defeated by the Red Army at the operational level and so the serious student of such matters should also read about how the winners did it.
