Gun Tractor

A vehicle used to tow an artillery piece that isn't an SPG.


The first recorded use of a gun tractor in the British Army was the use by the forerunners of 269 (West Riding) Battery RA(V), who used some borrowed Sheffield-Simplex cars in 1914. WW1 interrupted further experiment along those lines, but by 1918 both wheeled and tracked vehicles were being used.
