More precisely, Judas Iscariot.

This is the chap who betrayed Jesus to the Jewish authorities. Pontius Pilate, in return, rewarded him with 30 pieces of silver.

Given that Judas was the treasurer to Jesus and the Apostles, it's a good early example of how avarice and greed can corrupt the most holy. Be on your guard!

His name has come down the centuries as a byword for betrayal, and you wouldn't want that, would you?
