Ordnance

A couple of slightly different meanings, but which is the appropriate is usually clear from the context.

In a wider sense, it's almost any "warlike stores", such as guns, ammunition and so forth.

In the artillery world, it usually means the barrel and breech of a gun, as opposed to the carriage it sits on.

The provision of warlike stores used to be controlled by the Board of Ordnance.

The first comprehensive mapping of the UK was done under the control of the Board Of Ordnance, and was thus known as the Ordnance Survey.
