  • Effective range, 100 metres.
  • Required a 200lb pull to cock it in the first place.
  • Could just about penetrate the armour of German tanks if you got it square-on.
  • Sole advantage seemed to be the lack of backblast meaning it could be fired from within a building.

No wonder Jeremy Clarksons father-in-law got a VC for tackling tanks with one at Arnhem.
