Small sword

An extremely gay civilian self-protection weapon.

Worn by men of the restoration period as male jewelry, they were ornate to a outrageous level.

Its small size was a result of a social backlash because people kept falling over the lengthy rapier. Rapiers were measured on entrance into certain buildings in London and if they were too long, the blade was 'forcably' reduced in length.

Extremely efficient when wielded by a skilled swordsman, it made duelling frightenly one sided.

During the Victorian period, it was occasionally hidden inside canes for gentlemen to protect themselves from ruffians.

The weapon of origin for most sports fencing (excluding sabre).
