Standard Ribbon Bridge
Originally just called the 'Ribbon Bridge', the Standard Ribbon Bridge is an improved copy of the Soviet PMP floating bridging system. It is quickly deployed off the back of its carrier vehicles, unfolds and is linked together to form a bridge or ferry. When in ferry it is propelled by engineer boats.
It entered service in 1972 and is used by many NATO forces. In 2001 the Improved Ribbon Bridge was brought into service giving an improved capability.
