An urban legend is a war story, usually told in the Naafi, comprising almost entirely of bollox. Usually you hear three or four different versions of it, all ratified by different witnesses and all occurring in different theatres.

Examples of urban legends (please add):

  • The A-10 Thunderbolt's cannon is capable of stopping the aircraft, and even moving it backwards, mid-flight.
  • The Warrior's turret will fall off, if rotated three complete revolutions to the left.
  • There's an entire Panzer regiment buried under the square at (insert any German barracks).
  • The Mall Ninja.
